My mom has been making this dish for me ever since I can remember. It’s straightforward, quick, and makes for the perfect weeknight dinner. With just a few ingredients and a short prep/cook time, this recipe is ideal for a quick meal that boasts bold and delicious flavors.

Recipes range from simple to very complicated, but just because you chose an easy one tonight doesn’t mean you have to compromise on the flavor!
Cajun Shrimp
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 2 ½ lbs raw shrimp, deveined, in shells
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- 8 tbsp unsalted butter
Seasoning
- 2 ½ tsp paprika
- 1 ¾ tsp pepper
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¾ tsp dried oregano
- ¾ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ¼ tsp thyme leaves
Instructions
- Mix together in a large Zip Lock bag:2 ½ tsp Paprika1 ¾ tsp Pepper1 ½ tsp Salt1 ½ tsp Garlic Powder¾ tsp Dried Oregano¾ tsp Onion Powder½ tsp Cayenne Pepper¼ tsp Thyme Leaves
- 1-4 hours before serving, add the thawed shrimp to seasoning in Zip Lock bag and toss to coat
- In a large skillet, melt 4 tbs unsalted butter…Add:3-4 cloves minced garlic4 tbs Worcestershire sauce4 tbs lemon juiceSimmer for 3-5 minutes
- Add seasoned shrimp. Sauté 4 minutes or until opaque
- Add 4 tbs unsalted butter to shrimp, stir gently, just until melted
- Serve warm with warm fresh sliced french bread or, my favorite, baked rice to soak up the delicious flavors
